Getting started

Download DayStayed from the App Store and create a free account with your name, email, and a password. Tracking and your dashboard are free to use. When prompted, allow location access so the app can record where you are each day.

How does tracking work?

DayStayed records which state or country you’re in each day and counts your days by jurisdiction. It runs quietly in the background using low-power location, so you don’t have to open the app or check in. You can review your full day-by-day log anytime in the Day log tab.

Why does the app ask for “Always” location?

The whole point of DayStayed is to record your daily location without you having to remember to open the app. That requires background location, which iOS calls “Always” access. The app uses coarse, low-power location to determine your daily state or country, and your coordinates are encrypted. You can change this anytime in iOS Settings under Privacy and Security, Location Services, DayStayed.

How do I add or fix a day?

Open the Day log, tap a day (or the plus button to add one), and choose the correct jurisdiction. Manual entries always take priority over automatic ones, so your corrections stick. If you have past travel history, you can bulk-import it from the DayStayed website (Day log, Import).

What’s the difference between Free and Pro?

Tracking, your dashboard, jurisdiction watching, and day-count alerts are free for as long as you use the app. DayStayed Pro is an annual subscription that adds the CPA-ready audit report (PDF), export to PDF and Excel, multi-year history and reporting, and tracking of unlimited jurisdictions. Pro includes a 7-day free trial.

How do I get the audit report?

Open the report from the app. On DayStayed Pro you can view it and export it as a PDF or Excel file. On the free tier you’ll see a sample; upgrade to unlock the full report and exports.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID, so you manage them in the App Store, not in DayStayed:

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
2. Tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions.
3. Tap DayStayed and choose to change or cancel your plan.

If you cancel, you keep Pro until the end of the current billing period, then your account returns to the free tier. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

How do I reset my password?

On the sign-in screen, tap “Forgot password?” (or visit the reset page on our website), enter your email, and we’ll send you a link to set a new one. The link expires after one hour.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Settings and tap Delete account. Your account is deactivated immediately and all of your data is scheduled for permanent deletion 30 days later. If you change your mind, contact us within 15 days and we can restore it.

Your privacy

DayStayed never sells your data and contains no ads or third-party tracking. Your location is used only to determine your daily jurisdiction. See our Privacy Policy for details.
